The Moon’s shadow passes to the south and west, so coverage runs from about 97.0% in the far southwest down to 88.2% in the far northeast. Every settlement over 5,000 people is plotted here, which is why the map looks like the coastline.

Maximum happens earlier the further north and west you are - around 6:58pm in Shetland and 7:16pm in Cornwall. The difference is small enough that it barely matters for planning, but the Sun’s height above your horizon is not - that is what decides whether you see anything.
